Hook a string of big bass and you could win the grand prize of $5,000 cash in the 17th Annual Buddy Bass Tournament on May 31 at Prairie Creek Pavilion on Beaver Lake in Rogers.

The Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce's Buddy Bass Tournament is the largest on Beaver Lake, with over $10,000 in cash and prizes awarded to the top teams. Even the 50th Place team will receive $300, sponsored by Jiffy Kwick.

The grand prize is $5,000 in cash. Additional cash prizes are awarded through 8th place, with merchandise and gift certificates awarded to 9th through 25th place teams. The Big Bass Pot of $1,000 will be awarded to the heaviest bass caught during the tournament.

Earlybird registration in the tournament is only $110 per boat before May 16. It's $120 per boat after that date. Businesses, clubs or organizations can put their pride on the line by competing for a traveling trophy in the two-boat, four-boat and eight-boat team divisions.

Big Bass Sponsors include Culligan Water, 40/29 News and Cox Communications. Silver Sponsor is AEP Southwestern Electric Power, with 50th Place Sponsors Mercy Health System of NWA and Jiffy Kwick.
